Lord supper is observed on the second Sunday of every month in our evening worship. The purpose of the supper is to commemorate the death of Christ.
“…the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was betrayed took bread; And giving thanks, He broke it and said, ‘Take, eat; this is My body, which is broken for you; this do in remembrance of Me.’ In the same way He took the cup also, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the New Covenant in My blood; as often as you drink it, do this in remembrance of Me.’ For ‘as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you show’ the Lord’s death until He shall come.” 1 Corinthians 11:24-26
The bread
This represents His body which was broken on the cross for us. Jesus bore our sins in His own body on the tree so that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness. 1 Peter 2:24
The cup
This represents Christ’ blood which was shed in-order to seal the covenant He made with Man. We receive our redemption through His Blood. Colossians 1:14
